How do the competitions work?

You purchase a ticket, we then send a mystery 500 piece puzzle to your address, which you cannot open until the event. All participants will join a group video call (Google Meet) on the specified date/time, then unwrap the puzzle and race to see who can complete it fastest!

What are the rules for competing?

The competition will last 2 hours. If you are still puzzling after 2 hours you will be asked to count any remaining pieces to determine your result.

Your hands and puzzle assembly area must be in frame for the video call whilst competing. 

There are no restrictions on table size, sorting trays etc. Have fun!

How much do the competitions cost?

Most competitions are £16, though special competitions (pairs, 1000 piece count, pick your poison etc.) may be more. Additionally there is a £4 flat postage fee on each order

When will I get my puzzle? 

We aim to dispatch the puzzles at least 2 weeks before your first competition, so you should have it in plenty of time. You will be notified when your order is dispatched.

How will my puzzle be packaged?

The competition puzzles are wrapped in black kraft paper and labelled by competition (Do not open this until the competition). They are packed either in a padded envelope or carboard box (You may open this).

When will I receive the Google Meet invite?

We will email all participants a few days before the event with details for registration and the link to the Google Meet. The call will start ~15 minutes before the competition starts.

It's the day of the competition and I haven't received a registration email?

It's probably in your spam folder, but failing that you can contact us and we'll forward you the email. 

Can I participate offline if I'm unavailable at the time of the competition?

No, please don't order the puzzle if you're not free at the specified time.

Something's come up and I can no longer make the meeting, can I return the puzzle for a refund?

We can't guarantee anything, but if you contact us and can return the puzzle with enough time, we should be able to sort something out.

What brand will the puzzle be?

It's a surprise! We use a variety of brands including Ravensburger, Clementoni, Schmidt and many more!

Will the event be streamed anywhere?

Yes! From PG#28 onwards, we are streaming all events on our YouTube channel.

Will there be prizes?

Yes, there will be prizes for the fastest 3 finishers, along with additional spot prizes! Typically the additional prizes are awarded as follows:

- Golden Ticket: One wrapped puzzle will contain a golden ticket, it could be you!

- Dashing Debutant: The highest placing participant who hasn't competed with us before

- Madeley's Maestro: The participant who gets the lowest % of their predicted time (predicted times calculated from past Guzzle data)

I live outside the UK, can I participate?

Unfortunately we can currently only ship the puzzles to a UK address.
